on your oilies. The Amel 60 is a heavy ship, no doubt, but ine that eats the miles steadily and safely. Jochen Rieker, YACHT, GER Almost by definition this is one of the categories which are most difficult to decide because all nominees are top of the crop. And while it was a hard- fought race Amel took a well-deserved line honors victory. Why and how? Because the all new 60 sets the bar in terms of up-scale yachting. Her styling sets her apart, especially the interior design which is bright, translucent, and still outright cozy. No other monohull this size offers such a safe, secluded and spacious cockpit, none such a grand “terrace of the sea” on the aft deck. And while she may not give you that same thrill when it comes to sailing she is still a veritable mile-muncher and especially easy to operate with well proven furling systems. Loic Madeline, Voiles & Voiliers, FRA A special boat for sure: Amel is to a class of it’s own. Everything is well thought out. If you look for a blue water cruiser wih push button sailing you’ll be more than at ease. The inside is real luxury with no omission for real sea going abilities. The owners will appreciate the protected cockpit, watertight bulkheads and doors, safe locking of the drawers and impressive engine room – even though they will still miss some pleasure at the helm. German de Soler, Nautica y Yates, ESP Even though there are three double cabins inside the idea behind this 60- footer is for a couple embarking on the journey of their lives, with everything
that can be requested in terms of comfort and with the security that has become a synnonym of the famous brand. Definitely
big 60 foot sister now convincingly continues this change of direction. The Amel- DNA of simple and safe blue water cruising remains untouched. Besides the outstanding construction quality and the extraordinarily high safety standards Amel also surprises with many well thought-out details. One example: Under the berth in the owner’s cabin a small underwater hatch allows a clear view of the propeller! Joakim Hermansson, BåtNytt, SWE It’s hardly possible that an Amel can disappoint anyone whose objective is to make long distance cruising, or even a complete circumnavigation. This splendid sailing yacht is nothing but extraordinary, with so much comfort, space, safety and security for the happy owners that are going to experience the sailing adventure of their lives. A very well-protected cockpit upstairs, and watertight bulkheads and doors under deck are just two of many fine features. Alberto Mariotti, Vela e Motore, ITA Boat or house? The new Amel 60 nicely interprets both roles, perfecting the concept already seen with the previous model. In terms of pure luxury it has few rivals. Beyond the usual ”brochure” skills such as comfort, style and volume which are must-haves on boats of this class the Amel 60 incorporates interesting technical solutions which are designed to facilitate the management of a such big boat and make it more secure. It favors comfort to absolute performance, relaxing to sensations at the helm and constant protection of the deckhouse rather than the feeling of the wind in your hair.
a well- rounded yacht, true to her concept, justifying the the price.

Marinus van Sijdenborgh, Zeilen, NED Within the protection of your own yacht, your own house, to where ever the wind brings you. The Amel 60 presents a durable, luxury living space in the most practical way. The protection of the deckhouse, the practicality of the engine room and the safety of the solid guard rail are just examples of what makes this yacht a winner. Safety and redundancy are amongst the basic design elements of the yacht which reassure its crew of an uncomplicated and easy crossing. Decades of blue water cruising experience are narrowed down to subtle essentials and a flawless finish. Toby Hodges, Yachting World, GBR Another beautifully built and finished boat by Amel, this is a similar, refined and extended version of the award-winning 50. It features tried and tested traditional Amel concepts including the central enclosed cockpit (which won’t suit an active helmsman), huge watertight engine room and solid guardrails but in a modern looking package. The 60 boasts enormous volume and stowage, has a truly luxurious feel to the interior, and comes with an impressively high standard spec. Lori Schüpbach, Marina.CH, SUI With the 2018 European Yacht of the Year award for the Amel 50 the French shipyard presented a sloop for the first time after twenty years of ketches. The
Pasi Nuutinen, Vene, FIN Above all, Amel offers blue water cruisers exceptionally safe, sheltered and protected ambient for all weathers. Lots of latest technical and electronic innovations are used in clever ways to make sailing manouvers and vessel handling as easy as possible. Confidence in the boat is based on very high-end construction quality, and her luxurious ambience is the result of skilled design and first class materials. Thus, the winning recipe is pretty much same as two years ago when the Amel 50 gained the European Yacht of the Year Award. Axel Nissen-Lie, Seilmagasinet, NOR Many sailors think of Amel as being a bit conservative, but the 60 is not. The yacht is among the most modern. The boat lacks foils, but has much in common with the latest generation IMOCA. The latest regatta boats have a covered cockpit. Amel has had that for years. The 60-footer also has a carbon mast as standard from the same manufacturer as you find on Open 60. As on the most advanced racing boat, you can furl, and unfurl all you sails from the protected cockpit, adjust the sailplan to the weather without putting
