Bavaria C42 Bavaria C42 gør mange ting meget rigtigt med denne båd. Den tør nærme sig en rigtig scow bow konstruktion, som giver gode sejlegenskaber og masser af plads om læ. Den har enkeltror, hvilket har været savnet, men både med bred hæk er i dag alle udstyret med dobbeltror. Det giver masser af feedback til rorsmanden og ingen problemer at holde den selv under pres på halvvind. Der er masser af plads om læ, og den har overdådig stå- højde. Det lyse layout tenderer dog det kliniske, men der er ikke en finger at sætte på håndværk og funktionalitet. FAMILY CRUISER

TOBY HODGES, YACHTING WORLD, GBR Cossutti’s design has a clever shape, the first Bavaria with hard chines and a rounded ”V-bow”, which make a crucial difference, both below decks and on the water. It provides maximum space where you most want it – in the cabins, saloon and cockpit. And despite some sharp corners and small details, the yard should be commended for its increased attention to finish quality. However, when competing in this broadest of markets – 40 ft family cruisers – an extra something is still needed to help it stand out from the crowd. And in the C42’s case it’s this powerful but stable hull shape which combines with a generous sailplan for admirable performance, while providing sailors with direct helm feel of the single rudder. It is efficient and simple without disturbing the balance between affordability, comfort and performance. Rigged with standard Dacron sails the yacht is like a sailing holiday home: quiet and predictable, even a bit boring. Provided with a proper sail set however, the yacht boasts a formidable speed and pointing ability. Well designed and well conceived, the Bavaria C42 is an honest boat, that delivers comfort as well as sailing pleasure without any ado.
