While not being able to define it as an “innovative” boat in the literal sense the 47.2 fuses many elements so well that she becomes a unique bluewater cruiser. Everything on board is designed to withstand the elements and offer the highest possible safety. The helms- man manages the sail plan without moving from the cockpit and every movement on deck is protected. Excellent protection is also ensured by the deckhouse. Inside, one stays connected at the chart station with the cockpit. JOAKIM HERMANSSON, PRAKTISKT BÅTÄGANDE, SWE The French Boreal yard builds only about ten yachts a year, but this second generation of their 47-footer may be worth waiting a couple of years delivery time for. With her sturdy and rugged aluminum construction, ranging from ten millimeters thickness in the bottom plate to just four in the doghouse roof, she weighs in at around 15 tons with ballast and some additional equipment. The propper lines from Boreal founder and designer Jean-Francois Delvoye, in combination with a generous sail plan, still give her possibilities to sail very well, no matter if you cruise in tropical waters or close to some icebergs. In the latter case, the 80 millimeters of hull insulation and the Refleks waterborne heating system will make your stay both pleasant and comfortable.

Boreal 47.2 Boreal 47.2 er for sejlere, der drømmer om ekspeditionslignende togter ved klodens poler og under kolde himmelstrøg. Sejlegenskaberne er gode, og det var sjovt af styre båden og lege med de forskellige trimmuligheder – ikke mindst daggerboard-systemet. Man sidder godt beskyttet med et fremragende udsyn under den kombinerede hardtop ”sprayhood” og kahytsnedgang. Om læ er alt gennemtænkt og funktionelt med kold blue water sejlads for øje.
